David Stallings Outstanding Officer Award

David Stallings was born on October 6, 1946 in San Diego, California. He grew up in Portola Valley, California and graduated from Woodside High School, June of 1964. After graduating High School, he attended Menlo College and San Mateo College before transferring to the University of Arizona in fall of 1965.

Dave Pledged Kappa Sigma’s Gamma-Rho Chapter in fall of 1965 and was initiated in 1967. While attending U of A he served as pledge academic monitor.

Upon Graduating in 1968, with a B.S. in Real Estate and Insurance, Dave entered the US Army. In the Army he served as Infantry Sergeant, serving in the Vietnam War and returned with several decorations. He completed tour duty as an infantry small arms instructor at Fort Hood, TX.

Dave began his career selling Life and Group Health Insurance for Metropolitan Life from 1970-1975, then returned to U of A in 1975 for post graduate work in Accounting and Finance.

From 1975 to 1990 he held various Accounting and Finance management positions with CTI, Baum and Adamson Tire Co., and Regicor, Industries. From 1990 to 1993 he ran his own Finance and Collections consulting practice, and later, in 1993, joined Petty Products as CFO.

In May of 2005 Dave founded Tucson Cabinets, LLC. which deals with Kitchen and Bath Cabinet sales and installation. The company is aimed primarily at custom and production home builders in Southern Arizona, in addition to retail builders and remodel business.

Dave has been a member and Treasurer and of Gamma-Rho Housing Corp board of Directors since 1990 (or earlier), and has also been affiliated with the Tucson 20-30 Club and the Arizona Wildcat Club throughout his career.

This award is given to an undergraduate officer who has served his position “above and beyond.”
